Everybody else who stood up to speak after you should have plugged or reiterated the stand you made

How is your summer going? Joe Elizondo, surely he is a gentle man and a member of our leadership INFRASTRUCTURE? However, there must be HOUSECLEANING and the "Pulling of Weeds" that poisons us from the Top Down. Grassroots comes from the fertile soil which needs a CONSTANT GARDENER. We Stand United as when you spoke up. Everybody else who stood up to speak after you should have plugged or reiterated the stand you made. That is if they supported the same issue. You made a strong statement in stentoric style.

Now the negative. He was very beligerant. He has earned his position but not to wield it with such lack of prudence.

He was standing with a group 6-10 males and females.

The band was running low on fresh songs but everybody was having a good time so the band played on. Did you hear him on the radio last week? Elizondo beganchanting JUAN MORE, JUAN MORE over and over (increasing in menacing heckle tone). Everyone ignored him so he continued with the JUAN MORE, JUAN MORE escalation. Then the Guitar Guy with the HAt "straight off of the sunset strip" was suggesting songs (lead ins). Elizondo yelled, "WHO GIVES A FUCK" and some other MINUTIA (uncalled for). He was directing his disrespect at the stage. My wife & I at the same time said, "HEY" and we turned to him with a meeting of the eyes. His group separated and Elizondo departed in a new truck. The others with him were friendly & charming before and after.

There are a “few good men” in the bunch.

My regards Judge Greenwell, Randy Maldonado, Robert Zamora, Joe Flores, Juan Garcia and John La Rue.

There are some that need to be removed from status and position.

Mr. Hector Canales of the “TWO FER” clan

Barbie Girl’s partner

Mr. “Best Little Door House”, Cocoy sends his regards

And I thought I had seen a blue ghost?

That behavior is an embarrassment to the two boards; where do you “think” you sit so high?

And I know that is not why you “think” you sit so high.

Resign step down and go back to your “HOMETOWN”

This is MY Town.

How bout JUAN MORE!?!

The deciding factor and final inspiration for publishing the article occurred on Friday June 2, 2006 when Joe Benavides and Judge JAG ahowed up tardy to the 1150 AM radio talk show. The final final statements of Joe Benavides curiously excluded his client Jimmy Rodriguez although included a slate of WATTS puppets. The tactic was clear, they were trying to look good in the eyes of public opinion by telling everyone they were contributing to this cause for the children. Joe Elizondo's name just happened to be one of the contributors. We dont need contributors like that and besides that Kangaroo Court of JAGS is nothing but a Rail Road of selective prosecution and it generates plenty of money. The contributions are write offs and publicity plugs for a GAZILLIONAIRE'S Agenda. So is it commendable for our kids to have such an example in a Community Leader such as Joe Elizondo or Hector Canales (who tried to hide behind the children in the Barbie Girl Divorce)?

"now what?"

Yeah..now what? So far..you've got a drunk at a birthday party..gee..like THAT never happens! I've been an entertainer for over 15 years,danno..you know how many drunks I've dealt with at private parties? In bars, you don't run across that as much, but at private parties..especially birthday parties where the people are there for the guest of honor rather than to see a particular band or show.Everybody either has a relative or a friend who really shouldn't drink because they turn into "A-holes" when they do,but they have a few too many and turn into jerks.I've seen it dozens of times. That being the case..

Why would you hold Garcia responsible for some drunken A-hole who came to his birthday party? Would you want to be blamed for something somebody else did? How is this Garcia's fault? Last I checked,it was Juan Garcia running for office, not Joe Elizondo.

Maybe he DIDN'T remember..maybe he didn't hear it..maybe he figured whatever happens at a private party is nobody else's business.I've performed at private parties where people've done a helluva lot worse than holler out profanities.

Now..is this what you meant by "lying to your face"?

Didn't I tell you I wanted you to explain to me firsthand how Garcia "lied to your face",and that I didn't want any links to your blogsites? Against my better judgment,I went to yours,anyway,and...surprise!..none of the links work,so I went to Carranza's (again, against my better judgment,and..surprise!..your "front page" story is a copy and paste of HIS front page story about some drunk at a dance.

Jaime..WHAT HAS ANY OF THAT GOT TO DO WITH JUAN GARCIA OR THE PRICE OF TEA IN CHINA???? Pardner,I can't be any more direct that that.HOW DID GARCIA "LIE TO YOUR FACE"? What did he say that was a lie?? I'm beginning to think you're deliberately evading the question because you've been called out on something you can't prove.

"If a guy approaches you and says he has a JOB for you and to call him on Monday what does that mean to you?"

Oh,dear God,no! Is this another one of those "they promised me a job then reniged/modifiying my JOB opportunities/Garcia lied to me like the Fernandezes did" things? If it is,just say so and spare me the trouble of asking you twelve times how Garcia "lied to your face" because,amigo..I've had it up to HERE with "modified job opportunities per Havlinka vs.Der Weinserschnitzel" and people promising to pay you and don't.

"Make up your mind,Jaime..was it his birthday party,or a public fundraiser? And yes..it makes a BIG difference." A birthday party is usually a private affair,a public fundraiser is just that..public."

JK: It was a Birthday Party / Fundraiser billed as a Birthday Party with "Army of Juan T Shirts" for sale and people were writing checks.

EB: "And that's your "lie"?..that he told you he didn't remember the incident?..or said he thought it was someone else?"

JK: Now, do you really believe "he didn't remember" (he cant recall) the incident?

BULL$H?T

Or that Juan "thought it was someone else"?

He sure did remember everything else just fine and if he cant remember and not recognize human behavior and his underworld buddies why would anyone expect him to remember his HD #32 constituency. No big deal, Seaman dont remember his HD #32 constituents either. But just like Juan he knows the one's who have got cash to dangle.

EB: Awfully petty..don't you think?

JK: Not at all, if the situation was reversed I would definitely be the bad guy. Maybe I should go yell at Juan's next event "WHO GIVES A F//K" and chant the CCREDC mantra Chorus. "JUAN MORE" "JUAN MORE" and ask him if he remembers? Juan must be held to a higher standard. Keep the reigns tight on him and everytime he starts to veer byte his a$$.

LOL

EB: "Was does Elizondo being a drunken A-hole have to with whether Garcia would make a good State Rep?"

JK: He chose to coverup a "PETTY" incident and in the process grind me down for writing about it. He supported Joe Elizondo calling in favors from his undernetwork even though he knew Joe was wrong. He is realizing now the error in his ways.

EB:"..and if it was a private affair, what were you two doing there?"

JK: You might be surprised EB?

http://mipalabraeslaley.blogspot.com/2006/09/lifes-been-good-everybody-sing-im-cool.html#links

EB: "..were you invited by someone?"

JK: DUH!!! I was there.

Public Opinion is a powerful force but it is not static.

When and if Bryan Smith is proven guilty then he must leave (and that is a huge if). Right now he is innocent. This is not a big deal if the sex was consensual and certainly it is nothing that Skip needs to set jis hooks into, right Skip?

Nobody made a big fuss when Gazin's wife told him she had breast cancer and he told her he needed a divorce.

Nobody said nothing when Sausley had domestic problems.

Nobody said nothing when the Medical examiner became aware of a sitting District Judge and something about a sex crime.

And that one made the Judge even more of a force to be reckoned with.

I was warned, "You know you're messing with a district Judge"?

If Bryan didn't rape her and If he wants to continue as Chief; it is possible.

That is all for now.

Joe Elizondo has resigned as vice chairman of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corp., telling Mayor Henry Garrett in a resignation letter Thursday that the organization needs "a changing of the guards."

"I have focused for many years on leadership and I feel the need to act in that regard," Elizondo, owner of Greenwood Door Co., told Garrett in the letter. "Succession planning is a critical part of leadership development. It is time for a new, younger group to emerge -- a changing of the guards."

As vice chairman, Elizondo was in line to become the board's next chairman. The group is charged with attracting new industries through economic incentives and other assistance. A recent change in bylaws shortened the term for chairman and immediate past chairman from two years to one.

Elizondo's resignation caught the board chairman and Garrett by surprise.

"I had no idea he was even thinking about this and I have no clue why he did it," Garrett said. "It is a surprise to me because he has been a real strong member of the (board) for as long as I can remember. He was part of the process for many years and was always in attendance at the meetings."

Chairman Ed Martin, CEO of Bay Ltd., said he too was caught by surprise. Roland Mower, president and CEO of the group, declined to comment on Elizondo's resignation and referred questions to Martin.

"I haven't talked to him about this," Martin said, "but I remember talking to him when he was appointed vice chair and he was so excited about that, so I don't know why he resigned."

Elizondo, a board member for four years, said he plans to devote more time to his family and business. Greenwood Door, at 115 N. Alameda St., recently acquired contracts with a company in California and he plans to expand his business.

Elizondo said he felt his ideas emphasizing downtown development may not have been supported by the board.

"As chairperson I would have personally taken the initiative to improve the downtown area by converting it to a French Riviera-style city, with a San Antonio Riverwalk-style downtown and with the conversion of the Memorial Coliseum into a casino area," he said.

Martin said he had never discussed Elizondo's future plans and was not aware of how the board would approach them because they were never brought before the board.

Elizondo was appointed to the board by the City Council in December 2006. Five members of the board are appointed by the city, three are appointed by the Port of Corpus Christi and the remaining members are appointed by the membership. The City Council will appoint Elizondo's replacement.

Elizondo recommends developer/commercial property owner Leon Loeb, Loeb's son David or banker Ed Lopez with First Community Bank as possible replacements for his board seat. Elizondo also recommended Omar Garcia, a former Economic Development Corp. staff member who now is employed with the San Antonio Economic Development Department.

"I put in my time and though I know some people were surprised by my decision, I think it's the best thing to do," he said.

At the organization's August board meeting, Elizondo was selected as vice chairman and David Engel was selected as treasurer for the remainder of 2007. Elizondo was expected to succeed Martin as chairman in 2008.

I'm suspicious of the timing of this. FBI investigations, internal investigations. It will be very disappointing to me if Elizondo is in the mix of all that is going on right now.

Joe, are you still stealing money from little old ladies?

Posted by fsilvas on August 31, 2007 at 12:48 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Why the negative comments?Joe Elizondo has been and still is a pilar to the community. What does this have to do with FBI investigations or internal investigations. The guy wants to spend more time with family and his business, with everything going on with the city why not put your focus and energy towards what really matters. If your going to start a comment then finish and enlight us with your insider information. most comments posted to the editor are always negative. The person making the stealing money comment has more than likely been accused before and is trying to move the focus to someone else. if you have dirt then bring it out and stop all the kid games.

Yes I can tell you that it is true. Joe did still from an old lady Rosa Lee P Vega. He was about 5 years old and he took an apple from her without the permission of the old lady. The apples were for a pie she had planned to make. Upon finding out that the apple was gone she asked young Joe about the apple. Young Joe was given the "chicote"... Sorry, jones that is the switch, I know you are challenged in this area.... Joe Elizondo is a stand up man that has done more good than many other may think of doing.. What I mean about stand up is that I have yet to see anyone have the "manhood" to stand infront of him and go "Toe to Toe..Note if your looking for FBI head lines stay tune... Your going to be upset..

I agree with the summation that not much is being done to revitalize downtown. We have a wonderful Arts & Entertaiment district and Heritage Park but it does not look very good south of the Omni Bayside. I hope the EDC figures out that urban renewal is making progress in many cities across the nation, San Antonio included, bringing in more revenue and increasing tax rolls. Please do something between the Holiday Inn and Peoples, and from Shoreline to Lower Broadway.

If you could control your emotions for about 20 seconds and actually read my post, I have not accused Joe of anything. If you understand what you're reading then you would see that "I would be disappointed" if anything did turn up. I have nothing against Joe but you have to admit the timing of his resignation at a time when everything else in this city seems to be falling apart is certainly odd.

Cardbored, If you look back one month and take a glance at the timing of Joe's promotion with the "New" term. One Year ?? You would take the promotion as a move to put a person who would end up being a fall guy. "Think who promoted Joe" Hmm..The current problems that the city faces is a direct reflect of the world growing outside of the city limits. Trust me we will have more turn over in city goverment in the next three weeks than we have ever seen. The lack of communication between all parties is a result of thecity groups not on the same page. EDC is looking to the future growth, and the city is still working on keeping thing the way they are.. Do you still feel Odd??? Use your head and just look for the one with the strings..Then ask the questions..

What's sad is that this guy leaves, and he had some really great ideas...and he's right...there does need to be a change in leadership. when the EDC's website isn't updated in a period of years, how are people supposed to know about the great things happening in this city? the last guy who ran the EDC really did a phenominal job, and communicated so well with folks. Sad to see Joe go.
